Art Gallery of Hamilton

The Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) is a prominent cultural institution located at 123 King Street West. Situated on the Treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous territories, the gallery serves as a hub for contemporary and historical art. The facility features themed exhibition halls and offers a variety of visitor activities, including public tours on weekends and Thursday evenings, as well as drop-in programs for families.

The gallery is open daily, with extended hours on Thursdays until 9:00 PM. It is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, as well as on statutory holidays such as New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Admission is free on Thursdays for individual visitors. General admission fees are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors (65+), while children aged 0–5 and students (6+) enter for free. Indigenous peoples also receive free entry.

Current exhibitions include "Camille Turner: Hometown Queen" and "Made in Hamilton: The Glen Faulman Collection." Visitors can access the gallery via Entrance 1 on King Street West, as through access on Summers Lane is currently unavailable due to construction. Nearby amenities include restaurants and shopping options, making it easy to plan a full day of cultural exploration. The AGH provides a welcoming environment for art enthusiasts and families alike.
