Parc National de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-Saint-Étienne

Parc National de l'Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé, located in the Gaspésie region of Quebec, is a unique national park accessible only by boat. The park consists of two distinct sectors: Île-Bonaventure and the Rocher Percé area. The Île-Bonaventure sector is renowned for its spectacular Northern Gannet colony, one of the largest in the world. Visitors can explore four hiking trails totaling 15 kilometers, including the Des Mousses and Paget trails, which wind through meadows and coniferous forests. Guided hikes led by park warden-naturalists are available to enhance the birdwatching experience.

The park is open seasonally from May 31 to October 12. Admission fees are $10.30 CAD for adults and free for children under 17. It is important to note that boat transportation is not included in the admission price and must be arranged separately through authorized operators such as Les Bateliers de Percé or Les Croisières Julien Cloutier. On-site amenities at the Île-Bonaventure sector include a restaurant, sanitation facilities, and a nature boutique.

The Rocher Percé sector features the iconic limestone formation known as Percé Rock, a major symbol of Quebec tourism, while the island offers wildlife viewing and hiking. The area is accessible via Route 132, connecting the north and south shores of the Gaspé Peninsula. Visitors are advised to plan their boat trips in advance to ensure access to the island during the operating season.
