The Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal is an iconic neo-Gothic landmark constructed between 1824 and 1829, with its towers completed in 1841 and 1843. Elevated to basilica status by Pope John Paul II in 1982, the site is owned by a nonprofit organization that relies on ticket sales for maintenance and restoration. A major restoration project began in 2020 and is projected to continue until approximately 2040, with over $10 million already invested.

Visitors can explore the basilica through daytime sightseeing tours, with tickets starting at $16 for adults. Discounted rates are available for seniors ($15), students ($14), and children aged 6–16 ($10), while those under 5 enter for free. Evening experiences, such as "The AURA Experience" by Moment Factory, start at $37. All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. On-site ticketing is available during regular hours; purchases after 4:00 PM must be made online or by phone.

The basilica is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Sundays from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. It hosts seasonal musical concerts, including performances on the Casavant Organ and the "Music O'Clock" series, with proceeds supporting restoration efforts. Weddings are permitted in the nave or chapel, and the site is known for hosting notable events, such as the marriage of Céline Dion in 1994. Masses are conducted in French only.
