Biodome

The Montreal Biodome, located at 4777 Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue, is an immersive nature museum situated within the Olympic Park complex. Housed in a former velodrome built for the 1976 Summer Olympics, the facility recreates five distinct ecosystems of the Americas: the Laurentian Maple Forest, the Tropical Rainforest, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Labrador Coast, and the Sub-Antarctic Islands. This unique setting allows visitors to observe over 2,500 animals and 800 plant species in environments that closely mimic their natural habitats.

The Biodome is open year-round, with specific operating hours that vary by season. From May 1 to September 1, the facility is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Between September 2 and April 30, it is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed on Mondays. Visitors should note that the museum is closed on Christmas Day, with modified hours on New Year’s Day. The site is wheelchair accessible and offers amenities such as parking, gift shops, and washrooms.
