Granville Island Public Market

Granville Island Public Market, located in Vancouver, is a major cultural and culinary hub situated on a peninsula in False Creek beneath the Granville Street Bridge. The island, originally created from dredged sandbars in 1915 as "Industrial Island," housed shipyards and sawmills. By the late 1970s, the area was revitalized by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, transforming it into a public market that opened in 1979. The market itself operates daily, with standard hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though summer hours may be extended.
